The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is an independent corporation and one of two Commission members of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), which was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. The Higher Learning Commission accredits, and thereby grants membership in the Commission and in the North Central Association, to degree-granting educational institutions in the North Central region: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

The College will receive its regularly scheduled visit by the Higher Learning Commission on May 16-18, 2011. HLC will assess the College's Self-Study Report and review its request for reaccreditation for 10 years. The College is currently preparing its Self-Study Report and part of this process involves our students.

The College would appreciate if you would participate in any surveys you receive related to the College's reaccreditation process. We will do our best to send you only surveys that are pertinent to the process. If you are asked to be a part of the student advisory committee, we strongly encourage you to participate.

The College has decided to reduce the frequency in which the Graduate Program Advising letters are sent. The letters have been reduced from five times a year to two times a year. You are more than welcome to request a GPAL at any time from your Academic Advisor.
