Introduction of PFP511 and PFP516

Master's courses PFP511 - Insurance and PFP516 - Estate Planning II are being offered for the January session. These courses are required for the Personal Financial Planning major.

The goal of the Insurance course is to provide basic tools and concepts for individuals practicing in the field of personal financial planning. It introduces legal and regulatory issues affecting financial planners, with an emphasis on insurance.

The Estate Planning (Part II) course builds on estate planning process concepts introduced in PFP515. Topics covered include federal estate and gift taxation, techniques that reduce the size of the gross estate, wills, intestacy, probate, trusts, and more.

Please contact your enrollment counselor to enroll in either of these courses.

Introduction of a New Course

The College is offering a new course, FIN560 - Public Finance.

This course is presently available as an elective for students in the Personal Financial Planning and Finance majors.

Public Finance utilizes advanced economic theories to examine and explain the effects of government programs and policies on the national economy. These include the effects of government-provided goods and services, such as national defense and schools; government transfer programs, such as Social Security and welfare; government regulations, such as environmental and safety regulation; and government revenue policies, such as income tax and sales tax systems.

If you are interested in taking this course, please contact your enrollment counselor.
